Worship

We are “broad” Episcopalian. We use the Sanctus bells, and we are casual in our vestments and altar draping. While most of our Lay ministers are currently adults, we do have young torch bearers and Gospel bearers that will soon begin to serve as Crucifers.

As to the music, we have a magnificent grand piano and a high-tech organ that’s only a couple of years old. Our pianist, who has played for her own enjoyment for many years, has recently started learning to play the organ—though the organ, literally, plays itself.

There are two services on Sundays, meeting at eight-fifteen and ten-thirty. Between the services is Adult Education, the responsibility for which is shared. At nine o’clock on Tuesdays we have Morning Prayer in the courtyard, with Holy Eucharist celebrated on the first Tuesday of each month. Children’s Chapel starts at the beginning of the ten-thirty service and lasts until the Peace. Alternating with other churches, a small group of parishioners goes to a local nursing home to celebrate Morning Prayer on Sunday afternoons, with our team taking the fifth Sunday.
