Welcome to Marble Falls!
Our church, Trinity Episcopal, is in Marble Falls, Texas, in the heart of the Highland Lakes region of the Texas Hill Country. With a population of around seven thousand, Marble Falls is conveniently located forty-five minutes from Austin and a little over an hour from San Antonio. There are six recreational lakes within an easy drive. Lake Marble Falls, right in town, offers swimming, kayaking, and paddle-boarding, along with multiple playgrounds and picnic venues, and a well-maintained three-mile walking path. In addition, nearby, The Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge and Inks Lake State Park invite hikers and campers to explore the rugged beauty of Central Texas.
For families, the Marble Falls Public Library offers a variety of programs for children and adults. Storytime sessions, summer reading programs, and arts and crafts workshops provide enriching experiences for children, helping to cultivate a love for reading and creativity from an early age.
The City of Marble Falls Parks and Recreation organizes various youth and adult sports leagues, including baseball, softball, soccer, basketball, and swimming just to name a few. These programs are designed to be inclusive, encouraging participation from all skill levels.
Marble Falls has a small-town feel, but is large enough to support twenty-four churches, four hardware stores, an HEB and a Walmart, many wonderful restaurants, and all the standard fast-food places. Our proximity to Austin and San Antonio is a plus. Because Austin is expanding in our direction, we are currently experiencing new growth. Neighborhoods are springing up; and plans to build a new shopping center have recently been made public. There is a range of housing options, from historic homes to new developments.
We are a close-knit and engaged community, with farmers’ markets on Main Street on alternating Saturdays, a highly popular Lakefest boat race and a concert series in the park during the summer, the Walkway of Lights during the holidays, and an annual soap box derby.
The town is home to Highland Lakes Creative Arts, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the arts in the region. Throughout the year, Marble Falls hosts various art events, including the popular Paint the Town festival, where artists from across the country gather to create plein air paintings of the area’s scenic vistas. This event, along with others like Sculpture on Main, brings the community together and fosters an appreciation for the arts.
The education system in Marble Falls is supported by the Marble Falls Independent School District, which serves Marble Falls and the surrounding areas. The district is committed to academic excellence and offers a range of programs designed to meet the diverse needs of its student population. For parents, this means access to quality education close to home, with a focus on both academic and extracurricular development.
Marble Falls is also home to two university branches. The Central Texas Community College offers dual credit courses for high school students. And Texas Tech of Highland Lakes offers extension courses and has degree programs in certain fields.
